Val Kilmer (born Val Edward Kilmer on December 31, 1959 in Los Angeles, California) is a legendary actor with an illustrious career, spanning decades of film roles. He was the youngest student to ever be admitted to Juilliard, and had his breakout role as Iceman in Top Gun, alongside Tom Cruise. His most recognized film roles include playing Jim Morrison in The Doors, Batman in Batman Forever, and Doc Holliday in Tombstone. He starred in the Broadway play “Slab Boys,” and personified Mark Twain in an immersive theater project called “Citizen Twain.” He continued with acting roles in film and television until 2015, when reports surfaced that he was battling cancer.

Personal Life:
Val was married to actress Joanne Whalley from 1988 — 1996. They have two children, Jack Kilmer and Mercedes Kilmer. In 2015, reports surfaced that the actor was battling some form of oral cancer, which he immediately denied. On Oct. 30 his friend and fellow actor Michael Douglas revealed during a symposium that Val was battling the same form of oral cancer that he himself had successfully beaten, and gave the dire prediction, “that things don’t look too good for him.”
