We always thought it was an unspoken rule amongst parents that each child in the family should be encouraged to find something that makes them happy, but is different from other siblings, lest the siblings end up competing against each other. Well not only do  Karley, 4, and Kylie, 6, both compete in pageants, tonight they both were forced to compete against each other for a title!

On tonight’s episode of Toddlers & Tiaras, 3-year-old Olivia had more attitude than any contestant we’ve ever seen. She ranted and raved like no other at her poor mom. As they waited backstage getting ready to perform, Olivia could be heard screaming at Karey all the way in the audience. She may not be that sympathetic towards those with pediatric cancer (did she really say that?!) but she did nothing to deserve being on the other end of Olivia’s ranting and raving. At the end of the episode, Karey described Olivia’s behavior as “a good day.” If this was a good day, I’d hate to see her on a bad day!

In tonight’s episode of Toddlers & Tiaras, the little ladies competed for $10,000 cash, the highest cash prize in pageant history. However, I couldn’t help but notice how negatively the large prize affected the contestants and their families.
I should have known we were in trouble when Samantha introduced herself by saying, “I’m Samantha. I’m her coach. Well, I’m her sister and her coach.” Samantha is contestant Hailey’s older sister who was doubling as her pageant coach. Tonight’s episode of Toddlers & Tiaras showed the ugly side of pageants, what happens when a large cash prize is dangled in front of the contestants and their parents. And the result was not pretty.
