Sarah Jones (born Sarah Elizabeth Jones in West Columbia, South Carolina on September 22, 1986) was a camera assistant who began her work on the TV show Army Wives. Prior, she graduated from College of Charleston and took a few classes at Trident Technical College. She notably worked on The Vampire Diaries, Glee, Scandal and Homeland and on Feb. 20 was struck by a freight train outside of Savannah, Georgia while filming Midnight Rider. Following her sad death, a Facebook page, Slates for Sarah was created and now has more than 40,000 likes.

Sarah Jones was known as a “beautiful soul,” who was spunky and determined, always working hard. “From the heights of the mountains she hiked, to the depths of the oceans she dove (and never without a camera to record her experiences), the gift of her presence was felt far and wide. To have HEARD of Sarah was a privilege, to have KNOWN Sarah was a blessing. It was to feel an energy that was infectious and kind. Although her physical being is no longer beside us, her smile and her love of life will forever transcend in all the lives of those she touched,” her obituary read.
