Mark Hunt (born Mark Richard Hunt on March 23, 1974 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a Kiwi mixed martial artist and former kickboxer currently fighting for the UFC. Mark was born into a large Samoan family, and was troubled in his youth. He became interested in fighting professionally after getting in a brawl outside of a bar as a teenager, and knocking out several people by himself. In his first kickboxing match, he was given a six pack of beer for winning. Mark entered his first K-1 tournament in 2000, and quickly became a powerhouse in the sport. He has his last K-1 event in 2002, but returned to the sport in 2008. In 2005, Mark started fighting in mixed martial arts, fighting his last match in 2008 after rising to legendary status. UFC signed Mark in 2010 after they acquired the Pride Championship. His 2013 fight against Junior dos Santos is regarded as the best match in MMA. In June 2016, it was announced that he would be returning to UFC to fight Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 on July 9, 2016.

Personal Life:
Mark wrote in his 2015 memoir, Born to Fight, about the horrific abuse he and his siblings faced as children, including beatings and the sexual assault of his sister at the hands of his father. Mark is married to Julie Hunt, and has three children with her: Noah, Sierra and Aurora. He was once married before, and has three adult children from that marriage.
