Kathryn Hahn (born in Westchester, Illinois on July 23, 1973) is an American actress with German, Irish, and English ancestry. She received a bachelor’s degree in theatre from Northwestern University before attending Yale School of Drama. Hahn’s first appearance on television was on an NBC show called Hickory Hideout, which was a puppet show for children. However, she caught her big break while attending a theater festival where she met an NBC casting director who later introduced her to Tim Kring, a producer. Tim ended up creating the role of Lily Lebowski on the television show Crossing Jordan for Kathryn. Kathryn was on Crossing Jordan from 2001 to 2007 while at the same time landing movie roles. She’s been in films such as How to Lose a Gus in 10 Days, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The Holiday, Step Brothers, and Revolutionary Road. She is also well known for her guest appearances on sitcoms. She had a reoccurring role on Parks and Recreation as Jennifer Barkley, which earned her a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series. She also appeared in four episodes of Girls and 14 episodes of Transparent, in which she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2016 she appeared on an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Her most recent films include Our Idiot Brother, The Dictator, We’re The Millers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Tomorrowland.
