David Furnish (born David James Furnish, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada on Oct. 25 1962) is a Canadian/British filmmaker, former advertising executive, and is currently a film director and producer. He is the long time lover of Elton John. David has worked with his husband on many projects, including directing the documentary Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras, and producing of Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) and It’s a Boy Girl Thing (2006). He sits on the board of the Elton John AIDS Foundation in both the UK and the US and regularly auctions off designer items from his wardrobe for good causes.

David is best known for most known for his documentary Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras. Also, for marrying Elton John on Dec. 21 2014.

David began dating Elton John in 1993, got engaged in 2005 and married in Windsor, Berkshire on Dec. 21 2014, on the nine-year anniversary of their civil partnership.The couple have two sons together.

Understated is not a word that I would ever use to describe Elton John. And now the singer is shelling out a ton of dough to decorate his newborn son’s nursery. Elton and his civil partner since 2005, David Furnish, have spent a reported $54,332 on little Zachary’s room inside their Windsor mansion, Woodside. “Elton and John began planning the nursery months ago,” a source tells the Daily Mail. “They wanted it to be ready for when the baby came home.” Currently the couple is in Los Angeles with the infant, who was born on Christmas Day, but it seems that they plan to raise him in Europe.
