Casey Affleck (born Caleb Casey McGuire Affleck-Boldt in Falmouth, Massachusetts on August 12, 1975) is an American actor, film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is also the brother of actor Ben Affleck. Casey’s first movie role was as a sociopathic teenager in Gus Van Sant’s 1995 dark comedy To Die For. He starred alongside Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon, and Joaquin Phoenix. He appeared in two films featuring his brother Ben: Chasing Amy and Good Will Hunting. In 2007 Casey gained widespread recognition after starring in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and Gone Baby Gone, directed by his brother. In 2010, he directed the mockumentary I’m Still Here, starring his brother-in-law Joaquin. He also received critical acclaim for his performance in Out of the Furnace and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (both 2013). In November 2014, he had a supporting role in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. In 2016 Casey is set to play the lead in the heist thriller, Triple 9. He has also signed on to star as Meriwether Lewis in an upcoming HBO miniseries based on the 1996 book Undaunted Courage. On February 26, 2017, Casey won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Manchester By The Sea.

Personal Life:
Casey Affleck married his girlfriend of six years, actress Summer Phoenix, on June 3, 2006 in Savannah, Georgia. The couple were introduced by her brother, Joaquin. Together they have two sons, Indiana August, born on May 31, 2004, and Atticus, born on January 12, 2008. However, on March 16, 2016, Casey’s reps announced that Casey and Summer would officially be separating. Casey is involved with many animal rights movements and campaigns for PETA and Farm Sanctuary. Throughout the years, Casey has been accused by a number of women of sexual assault. On the set of I’m Still Here, Casey was accused of assaulting two women — a producer whom he worked with for 10 years and the director of photography. When giving Casey his Oscar, presenter Brie Larson, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of an abused mom, did not hide her disappointment that a man with his background won the award.
