Andrew Cuomo (born Andrew Mark Cuomo on December 6, 1957 in Queens, New York) is an disgraced American politician. Andrew is the eldest son of Mario Cuomo, who served three terms as New York’s governor. Andrew attended Archbishop Molloy High School and graduated from Fordham University in 1979. He got his law degree from Albany Law School in 1982. That year, he worked as his father’s campaign manager, and then joined his then-governor father as a policy advisor. From 1984-85, Andrew was an assistant district attorney for New York State. He founded the Housing Enterprise for the Less Privileged. From 1990-93, he served as the Chairman of the New York City Homeless Commission. Andrew was appointed to the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1993, and in 1997, he became the HUD’s Secretary. He served until 2001. In 2002, he sought the Democratic nomination for Governor. He pulled out of the primary after a political blunder. In 2006, he ran for New York Attorney General and was elected to the position. In 2010, Andrew announced he would run for Governor again. This time, he was elected with 63% of the vote. He was reelected in 2014. He resigned in November 2021 following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Andrew married Kerry Kennedy, the seventh child of Robert F. Kennedy, in 1991. They had three children together — Cara, Michaela and Mariah — before they divorced in 2005. He is the brother of CNN anchor Chris Cuomo. In 2011, Andrew began living with his girlfriend, Food Network host Sandra Lee. In 2015, he presided over the wedding of his longtime friend, Billy Joel, to his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick.
