Jesy Nelson (born Jessica Louise Nelson on June 14, 1991 in Romford, Essex, England) is a British singer. Jesy’s parents split when she was 5. While living with her mother, she moved 12 times. As she grew up, Jesy attended Jo Richardson Community School and Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College in Hornchurch. She was noted to being a dedicated drama and music student, something she pursued when she auditioned for the UK version of The X Factor in 2011. Though she auditioned as a solo singer, she failed to get past the Bootcamp stage. She was put into a four-piece band called Faux Pas with future Little Mix member, Perrie Edwards. When Faux Pas didn’t prove successful, Jesy and Perrie made a second group with Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Together, this new group, Little Mix, would go on to win X Factor, the first girl group to do so.

Personal Life:
Jesy has an older sister and two brothers. During her time on the X-Factor, Jessy was the subject of an intense cyber-bullying campaign. In 2014, Little Mix backed the anti-bullying media campaign, “The Big March,” and #DeleteCyberbullying project. She claims that Missy Elliot is one of her favorite musicians. She reportedly dated Eddie Brett from the band Lovable Rogues in 2013. She began dating Rixton lead singer, Jack Roche, in 2014. On July 19, with help from Ed Sheeran, Jake proposed to Jesy. She said yes.
