Dennis Quaid (born Dennis William Quaid in Houston, Texas on April 9, 1954) is an American actor. Following in his Academy Award-winning brother, Randy Quaid’s, footsteps, Dennis dropped out of school and moved to Hollywood in the mid-1970s. He first gained notoriety for his role in 1979’s Breaking Away, and began scoring roles in both comedic and dramatic films, earning acclaim for starring in movies like Great Balls Of Fire! and Enemy Mine in the 80s. His career plummeted in the 90s due to a cocaine addiction and battle with anorexia, but gained steam once again thanks to roles in Wyatt Earp, The Parent Trap and Any Given Sunday.

Personal Life:
Dennis married his first wife, P.J. Soles, on Nov. 25, 1978, but they divorced just over four years later. On Feb. 14, 1991, he married second wife, Meg Ryan, with whom he shares son, Jack Henry, born in April 1992. The couple divorced in July 2001, with Meg later claiming that Dennis had not been faithful “for a very long time.” He married Texas real-estate agent Kimberly Buffington on July 4, 2004, and they welcomed fraternal twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, born via gestational carrier, in November 2007. Although Kimberly and Dennis both filed for divorce in 2012, they have since reconciled, and the divorce was dismissed in 2013.
