Meet the stars who have donned the infamous hook to play Peter Pan’s nemesis in movies, TV shows, and animated specials.

Jude Law

Jude Law — The live-action ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ film is almost here. Disney+ released a featurette (seen here) for the highly-anticipated movie, which serves as a remake of the classic 1953 animated Disney film ‘Peter Pan’. The movie, due out on April 28, follows Wendy and Peter Pan’s trip to Neverland, which comes with some drama thanks to Peter’s run-in with his nemesis Captain Hook. The featurette teases ‘action on a huge scale’ between the pair and reveals that viewers will get to know the details behind their long-standing feud.

‘I love how deliciously evil this Captain Hook is,’ the film’s director, David Lowery, gushed in the clip. ‘And to watch Jude [Law] go toe to toe with Peter.’ Jude can be seen portraying Captain Hook, one of the most famous Disney villains, above. Dustin Hoffman

Dustin Hoffman — Dustin Hoffman played Captained Hook in 1991’s ‘Hook’. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg and starred the late Robin Williams as Peter Banning (Peter Pan), Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell, and Maggie Smith as Granny Wendy. The film follows an adult Peter Pan finding himself on his way to Neverland after Captain hook kidnaps his children

Jason Isaacs

Jason Isaacs — Jason Isaacs played the infamous character in 2003’s ‘Peter Pan’. The live-action film closely follows the classic storyline that generations of kids have grown up with.

Garrett Hedlund

Garrett Hedlund — Garrett Hedlund played perhaps the most attractive version of the menacing pirate there is in 2015’s ‘Pan’. Hugh Jackman, meanwhile, played the pirate, Blackbeard.

Christopher Walken — Christopher Walken took on the role in ‘Peter Pan Live’, which aired on NBC in Dec. 2014. Allison Williams portrayed Peter Pan and Taylor Louderman portrayed Wendy.

Colin O’Donoghue

Colin O’Donoghue — Irish actor Colin O’Donoghue may be best known for portraying Captain Killian ‘Hook’ Jones on the ABCseries ‘Once Upon a Time’ between 2012 and 2018. ‘I had a very specific idea as to how I would play him, and [showrunners] Eddie [Kitsis] and Adam [Horowitz] were on the same page from the get-go,’ Colin recalled to ‘TVLine‘ in2020. ‘I just made an innuendo about anything that I could — that was part and parcel of what he was — but I knew I could do it in a cheeky way so that you could kind of get away with it.’

‘I wanted him to be somebody that guys would want to be and girls would want to be with but knew that he was bad news,’ he continued. ‘That’s what I wanted him to be like, early on — very much the charming bad boy.’

Stanley Tucci

Stanley Tucci — Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci played the legendary Captain Hook in ITV’s miniseries, ‘Peter & Wendy’, in 2015. Laura Fraser starred as Mrs. Darling, Hazel Doupe portrayed Wendy, and Paloma Faith played Tinker Bell. Zac Sutcliffe played Peter Pan. The story took place in the dreams of Wendy, who was staying at a hospital for a serious condition.

Rhys Ifans

Rhys Ifans — Rhys Ifans played Captain Hook in the SYFY miniseries, ‘Neverland’, in 2011.’Hook is such a wonderful villain, but I thought it was interesting to explore the way that no one is born bad. I was interested in seeing what might have driven Hook to become Hook,’ he told ‘Huffpost‘ in 2012.

‘At the beginning of Neverland he’s an Edwardian gentleman, although he’s been forced to live on the periphery of society. I saw his becoming a pirate as a coming of age,’ he noted. ‘In the same way that Peter Pan visits the foothills of manhood, Hook finds himself in a place where, liberated of all the oppression of Edwardian England, he becomes like a Hell’s Angel or a hippy.’

Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston — Tom Hiddleston voiced Captain Hook in 2014’s ‘The Pirate Fairy’. He voiced a young Captain Hook, and he said the role was a ‘no brainer’ while speaking to ‘Collider’ in 2013. ‘ Especially because, you know, I grew up with the character. I grew up with the story. I grew up with Disney films,’ he gushed. ‘I always wanted to be in, to play a Disney animation character, and for it to be Captain Hook was like, the best.’
