‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Premiere: Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia & Cast On The Red Carpet

All good things must come to an end. The ‘This Is Us’ season 6 premiere was held at the Paramount Studios lot on December 14, 2021 in Los Angeles. The entire cast, including Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, Chris Geere, Griffin Dunne, Caitlin Thompson, Chris Sullivan, Mandy Moore, Susan Kelechi, Asante Blackk, Jon Huertas, Justin Hartley, Eris Baker, Sterling K. Brown, Faithe Herman, and Lyric Ross, came together to celebrate the upcoming premiere of the sixth and final season.

‘This Is Us’ has become one of NBC’s biggest hits ever since it premiered in 2016. The series has racked up countless awards and nominations over the past 5 years. Even though it’s going to be bittersweet, ‘This Is Us’ is ending on its own terms. Creator Dan Fogelman made the decision to end the show after 6 seasons and with the series finale set to end on May 24, 2022 fans are already gearing up for a crying fest.

Mandy Moore stunned in a zebra print dress at the season 6 premiere. She is preparing to take her final bow as Rebecca Pearson. Mandy talked about how emotional filming the final season was while appearing at the Emmy Awards on Sep. 19 2021.

She told Entertainment Tonight, “It’s already tears. Tears for the material and tears for the fact that we’re leaving this family. This family is disbanding. But we have many, many months and episodes to shoot.”

Milo Ventimiglia flashed a peace sign at the season 6 premiere. ‘This Is Us’ may be coming to an end, but Milo will be Jack Pearson forever. 

Milo talked about the bittersweet end with Us Weekly in Oct. 2021, telling the magazine, “I think it’s wonderful. I think it’s incredibly satisfying. I think it’s beautiful. I was just on set with [creator] Dan Fogelman about two weeks ago and he was talking about some things that I didn’t know about the end.

“I was there with Mandy [Moore]. We just kind of looked at each other, like, one, excited to get into it, and two, incredibly devastated as human beings because this is probably gonna wreck people in the most heartfelt way. It’s beautiful. I’m so excited.”

Chrissy Metz looked beautiful in a green floral dress at the premiere. Season 6 will finally explain what broke up Toby and led to her marriage to Phillip. 

Chrissy also co-wrote an episode with costar Susan Kelechi Watson. Talking about her new role with People during the premiere, she said, “It’s really exciting to support fellow actors and people that you love trying new things. For me in particular, obviously, writing has been a very new venture, but I’m very excited.”

Randall Pearson himself! Sterling K. Brown was as stylish as ever at the ‘This Is Us’ season 6 premiere. The actor opened up about the series wrapping with People in October 2021, saying, “Just to share each other’s company over these past years has been a real, real blessing.”

“The relationships that you see on screen are not anything that is faked because the love that we have for each other in real life is real. More than anything, I’m going to miss my family so much. But I’m also excited to see what my artistic journey has to offer for my post-[This Is Us].”

Justin Hartley looked dapper in a gray suit with a green shirt underneath at the premiere event. He’s got one more round as Kevin Pearson. While on the red carpet he told Access he wouldn’t say no to a ‘This Is Us’ movie. “I am down for a ‘This Is Us’ Movie, I love these cats. I would do a trilogy movie, I really would. I would do a movie every year with these guys,” he said.

Chris Sullivan went for an all-black ensemble at the premiere event. Toby will have to answer a lot of questions in the final season. He talked about his character’s story-arc with TV Insider in July 2021, saying the creators have done  a great job at showing us all of the different aspects of relationships and family life and how all those things can play out.”

“So I think no matter what happens with Kate [Chrissy Metz] and Toby, it’s going to be executed in a loving and compassionate way, so it’ll be painful, it’ll be sad for it all to end, but like I said, it’s all going to be done in a very loving and conscious way, so that’s the best we can ask for.”

Susan Kelechi Watson rocked a printed dress with cutouts and puffy sleeves at the premiere event. Beth Pearson slayed it! Susan celebrated her first episode as co-writer on her Instagram in Nov. “Today baby takes her 1st steps. Episode 606 starts filming today,” she captioned a photo of the finished script, adding, “Couldn’t have done this without my fabulous co parent @ebonifreeman who also wrote ‘Our Little Island Girl’ part 1. She is Queen.”
