‘Sons Of Sam’ Documentary: David Berkowitz & More — Netflix explores the Son of Sam murders that terrorized New York City in the new docuseries ‘Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness.’ After 8 separate shooting attacks and 6 deaths, David Berkowitz was arrested. He had dubbed himself the ‘Son of Sam’ and sent letters to police to taunt them. He confessed to everything and initially claimed that he was obeying the orders of a demon inside his neighbor’s dog. His neighbor’s name was Sam. David Berkowitz is still alive and serving 6 life sentences for his crimes. The Netflix docuseries looks into Maury Terry’s theory that there was more than one murderer. After investigating, Maury became convinced that a satanic cult known as ‘The Children’ had been a part of the Son of Sam murders.
