Sloane Stephens is an American professional tennis player who garnered attention when she defeated only the best tennis player to ever exist (aka Serena Williams)! Not only is Williams a hero to 27-year-old Stephens, but she is a hero to us all.
We are still huge fans of Stephens, though, and cannot wait to see what else she accomplishes in the sports world in the near future.
She does indeed have quite the resume already, as she grabbed her first Grand Slam title when she defeated Madison Keys to win the US Open Women’s Final on Sept. 9, 2017.
Sloane Stephens’s relatives are quite the superstars as well. Her mother, Sybil Smith, is the first African-American female to be named First Team All-American in Division I history, and her late father, John Stephens was a pro football player back in his day. Her younger brother, Shawn Farrell, also plays baseball and football for Notre Dame High School in LA.
