Rosanny Zayas — Rosanny Zayas visited HollywoodLife.com to discuss her role of Sophie in Showtime’s The L Word: Generation Q. The native of Brooklyn & Queens, New York opened up about the show’s revival & the tumultuous relationship Sophie has with her fiancé Dani. “A part of me always wants to see couples like this always win. You always want to see them win because you’re like, ‘All the time TV is about people losing, or people going through things, and then conflict all the time,’ but it just wouldn’t be as interesting,” Rosanny told HollywoodLife.com of Dani and Sophie’s ups and downs. Moving into the final episodes of the season, Rosanny teased something “huge” going down, so we’ll just have to wait and see!

On Being Part Of The ‘New Generation’ — “At first I was very terrified. I mean, I was scared because of the OGs. They’ve established so much and they’ve set the groundwork for so much to happen with the original show. You could see that everybody was working really hard to do make this the best thing ever and that was the best part, everyone’s showing up at the table is always a great thing because then it feels like we’re all working towards the same thing.”

I read past interviews, I talked to Jennifer Beals a lot. she was really great and she would help anytime I had a question, or doubts, or anything.”

On Creating Sophie’s Character — “I’ve always wanted her to be someone that’s super relatable and someone that you would want to … wouldn’t even think twice about bringing home to dinner. I really thought about the love, and the respect, and the kind of person that I wanted Sophie to be. I wanted people to relate to her in that way. Especially for people of color characters on television.”
