With a leather glove, a striped sweater, and a wicked laugh, Robert Englund carved his name into the pop culture history books as Freddy Kreuger. Now, the ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ star joins ‘Stranger Things,’ so take a look at this horror legend.

One of the biggest names in horror is Robert Englund, though many know him better as Freddy Kreuger. The man who has portrayed the dream-stalking killer in the ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ franchise has been scaring and delighting fans for decades. After experiencing his breakthrough on the ‘V’ miniseries in 1983, Robert landed the role of Fred in Wes Craven’s movie. Englund would portray Freddy in the following seven films, from Part 2 (“Freddy’s Revenge”) to Part 3 (“Dream Warriors”) to the meta ‘Wes Craven’s New Nightmare.’ During that time, Robert would appear in such classics of the genre as ‘976-EVIL,’ ‘The Mangler, the 1989 remake of ‘The Phantom of the Opera,’ ‘Wishmaster,’ and more. A well-trained actor on stage and screen, Robert has brought a certain gravitas to all his performances, which is why he has often found work as a voice actor in such shows as ‘Regular Show, ‘The Batman,’ and the ‘Injustice 2’ video game. In 2022, he was cast as Victor Creel in the fourth season of ‘Stranger Things.’
