It was how she was discovered by and ended up working with legendary producer Babyface during her first year in Los Angeles, and was eventually signed by record executive and Chris Brown’s manager, Abou “Bu” Thiam in 2013. She signed her contract with Interscope Records in 2013, then released her debut extended play, The Gift, and a series of singles, including “Do It Again” and “Touch”. By late 2017, she started work on creating her own label Cherry Pie Records, before ultimately landing at Republic Records and Electric Feel Entertainment in 2020.
