Nick Gordon and Bobbi Kristina Brown are seen attending the premiere party for The Houstons: On Our Own at the Tribeca Grand hotel in 2012. The series followed members of Whitney Houston’s family months after her tragic death.
Nick Gordon sadly passed away at the age of 30 on Jan. 1, 2020. According to reports, he suffered a series of heart attacks and was rushed to hospital in Florida. “God why did I have to lose my brother on New Years,” his brother Junior Walker shared on social media, adding that all he could do was “cry.” Junior later confirmed Nick’s death via a statement.
Nick was closely associated with the Houston family after Whitney Houston took him in at the age of 12 after his mother abandoned him. Though he was often referred to as Whitney’s “adopted son,” she never legally filed papers to become his parent or guardian. Over the years, Bobbi Kristina and Nick formed a close bond that eventually turned romantic. The pair seemed to move at rapid pace after the death of Whitney Houston, and announced their surprising engagement via social media in 2013. Bobbi Kristina and Nick never made it down the aisle, and, at the age of 22, the rising star was found unsoncious in a bathtub with drugs in her system. After spending six months in a coma, Bobbi Kristina passed away on July 26, 2015. Nick was later found liable for her death, and ordered by a judge to pay $36 million to her estate.
