It may come as surprise to some that although Miley Cyrus has been a household name for well over a decade, she has only attended four Met Galas. Of course, she served some memorable looks during the times she did support the annual fundraiser, like her bold Saint Laurent dress pictured. Shamelessly showcasing her unique fashion sense has come to be a part of what the actress and singer is all about. Miley likened dressing up to ‘fearless’ self-expression in a 2021 interview with Vogue. ‘Fashion to me is kind of flipping yourself inside out,’ she continued. ‘It’s like wearing your heart, wearing your guts, wearing your values, wearing your identity, wearing your pain, wearing your joy. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth made their Met Gala debut on May 6, 2019 in coordinating outfits for the ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ theme. Miley seemed dazzled by the fact that she had her husband by her side for the first time at the event. ‘[The Met] is like a reunion of all your friends and it starts feeling like family. I’ve always been here solo so I wore higher heels because I have someone to hold me this time,’ she gushed to Vogue on the infamous Met Gala steps about the special date night. The couple had married the previous December in a private ceremony with family after dating on and off for 10 years. The couple split just months later.

Miley Cyrus looked cool and confident even without Liam Hemsworth by her side on the 2019 Met Gala red carpet. The ‘Younger Now’ singer rocked an edgy custom Yves Saint Laurent strapless dress that featured sparkling black and green stripes that angled off in asymmetrical cuts. She wore translucent black tights with black polka dots underneath and super high black heels. She kept her straight, blonde hair behind her ears and finished the bold look with silver dangling earrings.

Miley Cyrus wore a floor-length Alexander Wang gown at the May 4, 2015 Met Gala.
