Megan Rapinoe: Photos Of The Professional Soccer Player

There is — and will only ever be — one Megan Rapinoe. The US Women’s National Team star and World Cup champion is a soccer icon, so take a look back at her legendary life and career.

Megan Rapinoe is an icon of soccer – both on and off the field. As part of the United States Women’s National Team, Megan has won multiple FIFA Women’s World Cup, an Olympic Gold Medal, a pair of CONCACAF Women’s Championships, and three SheBelieves Cups. She’s also taken home the FIFA Golden Ball and Golden Boot for her performance in the 2019 World Cup, the same year she was named the Ballon d’Or Féminin. Her skills are renowned for her crafty style of play – and for her unafraid activism. As the first USNWT player to come out, Megan has been at the forefront of pro-LBGTQ+ issues. She has also demonstrated against police brutality, joining Colin Kaepernick in kneeling during the National Anthem to protest Black people being killed by the hands of the police.

Megan became the first openly gay player in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. As of 2021, she was engaged with WNBA champion Sue Bird. She was previously involved with musician Sera Cahoone.
