Born in Toronto in October 1980, Matte Babel is a journalist and former ‘Entertainment Tonight Canada’ correspondent. In June 2019 ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Shay Mitchell revealed that she was six months pregnant and Matte, the proud daddy-to-be, smiled and caressed her baby bump during a photo shoot.
Matte has a long and impressive career in the entertainment industry. While he appeared in two 2010 episodes of ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation,’ he is best known as a TV correspondent and host who has appeared on a variety of Canadian shows. A former MuchMusic VJ, Matte has also steered the reality TV series, Canada Sings. Through his work he has interviewed many celebs, including Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey, Will Smith and One Direction. Unsurprisingly – given that he appeared on ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ – Matte knows Drake. He once praised the hip hop star in an interview with TDot TV, saying, “He hasn’t changed at all. He’s pretty much the exact same person with more expensive problems now.”
