Marlee has been Deaf since she was 18 months old due to illness and high fevers. She is a prominent activist of the Deaf community. Marlee’s most notable film role was ‘Children of a Lesser God,’ which earned her an Oscar. Marlee is married to Kevin Grandalski and they have four children. She previously dated actor William Hurt in the 1980s, and later accused him of sexual assault in her 2009 memoir, ‘I’ll Scream Later.’
