Longest Celebrity Divorces: Photos — Are you ready to dig into some Hollywood marriage drama? It’s no secret that many celebrity divorces seem to go on forever, especially when custody battles and big bucks are involved. Some couples even put the brakes on the divorce process while trying to patch things up.

However, not every Hollywood split is fueled by animosity. Just look at Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who took their sweet time to finalize their divorce despite announcing their separation in 2015. It took them two whole years to file for divorce, but once they did, they quickly agreed on custody of their three kids. By October, they were officially single. Since, they’ve continued to be friendly co-parents, often seen supporting their kids’ sports games together.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce seems to have no end in sight. The Hollywood marriage ended abruptly in 2016, after word Brad got into a physical fight with son Maddox.

Both actors were declared legally single in April 2019, but the battle over their 4 youngest kids custody is still in courts. In 2021 Brad was awarded more time with the kids, but the decision was overturned months later due to alleged conflicts of interest by the judge. In 2022, documents related to the FBI’s investigation of the 2016 incident emerged, revealing how serious the abuse accusations once were.

Brad and Angelina are also at odds over the sale of the French winery which they used to own together. Angelina sold her stake in Oct. 2021, but Brad sued to block the sale in early 2022.

Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom

Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom — Khloe Kardashian ended things with NBA star Lamar Odom in Dec. 2013 after 4 years of marriage, but the duo didn’t appear to rush the divorce process. Khloe was still able to withdraw the papers in Oct. 2015 after his near-fatal overdose. She took care of the basketball star until filing for divorce again in May 2016. They finalized the split seven months later, with both parties waving spousal support.

Arnold Schwarzenegger & Maria Shriver

Arnold Schwarzenegger & Maria Shriver — Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver took a very long time to finalize things. The beginning of the end was in May 2011. Arnold and Maria separated days before the LA Times revealed he fathered a son from an affair 10 years earlier. She filed for divorce 2 months later, but the pair, who share four children, Katherine, Christina, Patrick and Christopher, didn’t finaliz their divorce in December 2021.

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony — Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on good terms after a patient divorce. The Latin crooner and actress separated in July 2011, and he filed for divorce in April 2012. The exes, who share twins Emme and Max, finalized their divorce two years later in June 2014. She has primary custody of the kids.

Richard Gere & Carey Lowell — Richard Gere and Carey Lowell broke up in 2013 after 11 years together. They settled custody of son Homer quickly but didn’t legally cut ties until Oct. 2016. Richard is now married to Alejandra Silva.

Jesse Williams & Aryn Drake-Lee — The divorce wasn’t cut and dry for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee. They broke up in April 2017, after four years together and two kids. While they reached a joint custody agreement in Sep. 2019, he disputed some of the order, which required Jesse to pay $40,000 per month in child support. In October 2020, a judge signed off on the settlement and both were deemed legally single August 2020.

Bethenny Frankel & Jason Hoppy — Bethenny Frankel may live a 24/7 New York life, but she wasn’t in a rush to divorce ex Jason Hoppy. They announced their separation in Dec. 2012, but it took until Jan. 2021 for a judge to sign off on their agreement, which includes custody arrangements for daughter Bryn.

John Schneider & Elvira Schneider — ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ star John married Elvira in 2014, but she filed for divorce in December 2014 after 21 years of marriage. It wouldn’t be official until August 2019, a year after John was sentenced to three days in jail for failure to pay more than $150,000 in owed alimony payments in Sep. 2018. That didn’t stop him from getting hitched to his girlfriend Alicia Allain before, however. They wed in Jul. 2019, before the divorce was finally done.

Amy Poehler & Will Arnett — Amy Poehler and Will Arnett called it quits in Sep. 2012, after 9 years of marriage. It took another two years for the couple to file for divorce in April 2014. The pair, who have two sons, wrapped up the process in July 2016, another two years on.
