Katy Tur’s anchor profile picture for her ‘MSNBC Live with Katy Tur’ hour long news show. The newswoman is the daughter of legendary L.A. TV news helicopter pilot/reporter Zoey Tur. She began reporting for WPIX and Fox5 in New York City and moved on to NBC’s flagship NYC station WNBC in 2009. She quickly moved on to the network new level and in 2015 was assigned to cover Donald Trump’s campaign for president. As his viability as a Republican candidate grew, so did Katy’s profile. At several points in the campaign when Trump was being critical of the press, he called out Katy personally by name during rallies, pointing towards her in the press pool. In 2017 she won the Walter Cronkie Excellence in Journalism award for her efforts on covering Trump’s campaign and 2016 presidential win. Katy later wrote about her experiences in the book ‘Unbelievable: My Front-Row Seat to the Craziest Campaign in American History.’
