Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas: Photos — Justice Clarence Thomas is a conservative Supreme Court judge, hailing from Pinpoint, Georgia. Justice Thomas, born Jun. 23, 1948, earned his BA at the College of the Holy Cross and studied law at Yale University.

Justice Thomas was nominated to the court by George H.W. Bush in 1991 to succeed Thurgood Marshall, as the second-ever African American on the bench. His confirmation hearings were mired in controversy amid sexual harassment allegations from Anita Hill, a lawyer who previously worked with him.

While serving on the court he’s become known for his quiet, reserved demeanor. He is widely regarded as the Supreme Court’s most conservative member and adheres to a strict originalist view of the constitution. Justice Thomas’ wife Virginia ‘Ginni’ Thomas is a conservative political activist.
