Jordin Sparks — Actress Jordin Sparks, from the upcoming film ;Sparkle,’ poses for a portrait on in Beverly Hills, Calif. “Sparkle” was released in theaters Aug. 17, 2012. Jordin rose to fame in 2007 when she beat out Blake Lewis for the title of ‘American Idol’ in the show’s sixth season. At 16, she was the show’s youngest winner. Her debut self-titled album went platinum the following year and included the hits ‘Tattoo’ and a duet with Chris Brown called ‘No Air.’ She made her Broadway debut in 2010’s ‘In The Heights’ and in 2012 came her film debut with ‘Sparkle.’ She dated fellow singer Jason Derulo for three years, ending things in 2014. She married fitness model Dana Isaiah Thomas on July 17, 2017 in a romantic Hawaiian ceremony. The couple welcomed their first child, a son names Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr. on May 2, 2018. She suffered some terrible losses in early 2018 when her step-sister Bryanna Jackson-Frias passed away from complications of sickle cell anemia on January 30 of 2018. The following day her American Idol alum and pal Leah LaBelle and her husband Rasual Butler died in a horrific car accident in Studio City, CA the very next day on January 31, 2018. Her beloved stepfather James Jackson died from a stroke on May 11, 2019.
