J.K. Rowling at ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Premiere — J.K. Rowling is a British author famed for writing the Harry Potter novels, the best-selling book series in history. Rowling got the idea for Harry Potter while on the train in 1990, and scribbled notes down on napkins. Seven years later, Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone debuted. Over the next 10 years, she released six sequels, ending in Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows. The books were turned into a massive film franchise, on which she served as a producer, a theme park at Universal Studios, and a spinoff film series: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Rowling also penned the Broadway play Harry Potter & The Cursed Child in 2016. She’s also written a number of crime novels under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Rowling is a philanthropist who supports multiple causes, including multiple sclerosis, which her mother suffered from before her death. She is one of the richest authors in the world.
