Janelle James: Photos — Janelle James is a comedian and actress best known for her role as Principal Ava Coleman in the hit series ‘Abbott Elementary.’ The show has already been renewed for a second season, which will premiere in September 2022. She stars alongside Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Lisa Ann Walter, and more.

Janelle has garnered much praise for her performance in the comedy series. In 2022, she earned a TCA Awards nomination for Individual Achievement in Comedy.

Prior to ‘Abbott Elementary,’ Janelle appeared in shows like ‘Crashing,’ ‘Corporate,’ and ‘Central Park.’ She was also a writer for the Showtime series ‘Black Monday.’ In addition to acting, Janelle is also a stand-up comedian. She was a featured comic in the Netflix special ‘The Standups.’
