There are only a handful of women who rank as billionaires, and just a fraction of those are household names. Some of these gals found fame before raking in the big bucks, like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. Others became public figures after making it big in the business or philanthropy worlds, like Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg or Jeff Bezo’s ex-wife Mackenzie Scott.

One of the most famous female billionaires in the world is Oprah Winfrey, seen here in Feb. 2020. The media mogul made her fortune off TV, magazines, and high-profile brand partnerships. As of Jun. 2022, she’s reportedly worth $2.45billion, per Forbes.

Kim Kardashian — Kim Kardashian may have started off as Paris Hilton’s personal assistant, but she’s now a full-blown fashion and beauty force. The reality star is reportedly worth $1.8 billion, racking up her cash from her stakes in her mobile game, KKW fragrance and cosmetics, and Skims shapewear. Skims raised $240 million in January 2022, doubling its valuation to $3.2 billion in less than a year.

Kylie Jenner, Former Billionaire — Some things just aren’t meant to last… Kylie Jenner originally topped Forbes’ list of youngest self-made billionaires in 2019, but by 2021 she fell off the B-list and her reported wealth had plummeted to a mere $600m by 2022, per Forbes. The reason for the slip? In an expose, Forbes accused the Kardashian-Jenner family of misrepresenting the makeup mogul’s assets in order to inflate her value.

MacKenzie Scott — MacKenzie Scott (nee Bezos) wasn’t a huge name until her divorce from Amazon magnate Jeff Bezos made her the richest woman in America, practically overnight, in 2019. The author/philanthropist is worth $33.6 billion, and since 2020 she has donated upwards of $8.5 billion to charities and non-profit organizations.

Elaine Wynn — Elaine Wynn may have a less public profile, but her name is as big as any, especially if you’re in Sin City. The hotel and casino bigshot is worth $1.6 billion, following ex-husband Steve Wynn’s departure from Wynn Resorts in March 2018. He sold all of his shares, leaving her at the helm. She’s not afraid to play hardball, either. Through some business strong-arming, Elaine forced the resignations of two longtime board members who were Steve loyalists in May 2018.
