Ever since their breakthrough in the early 1990s, Everclear has been one of the flagbearers for alternative and rock n’ roll. Take a look at the group.

From the opening chords of “Santa Monica,” Everclear has been associated with the ‘90s rock movement, and the sound that has come to help define that decade. Formed by Art Alexakis with Craig Montoya and Scott Cuthbert in 1992, the band has undergone a lineup change throughout the years, with Art firmly at the helm. They released ‘World of Noise’ in 1993, but would really experience success with the release of ‘Sparkle and Fade’ in 1995. The album contained ‘Santa Monica,’ along with other staples of alternative rock radio. In the three decades following their breakthrough hit, the group would follow up that initial success with ‘So Much For The Afterglow,’ and ‘Songs From An American Movie: Vol. 1’. As the 2000s carried on, so did Everclear, with albums like ‘Welcome to the Drama Club,’ ‘Invisible Stars,’ and ‘Black Is The New Black.’ In their third decade, the band showed no signs of slowing down.
