Elizabeth Taylor is one of Hollywood’s most legendary starlets, known for her stunning looks, powerful acting, and captivating personal life. Born Feb. 27, 1932, Liz began her career in show business as a child, rising to prominence as a teen with her role in the equestrian film National Velvet (1944). Her success continued into the coming decades, starring in classics like Giant (1956), Cleopatra (1961), and Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Wolf (1966), which earned her an Oscar.

Liz’s film career slowed down by the 70s, but she remained a fixture at awards and events. In her later years, Liz promoted her own jewelry and fragrance lines, including the popular Passion and White Diamonds scent, and became a leading promoter for AIDS charities and research after the death of her friend Rock Hudson in 1985. After health problems through the 90s and 2000s, Elizabeth died on March 23, 2011, at 79 years old.
