Dr. Leana Wen — Dr. Leana Wen – who is a familiar face on cable news networks like CNN and MSNBC – is Baltimore’s former health commissioner. A respected expert, as of 2020 she is also a public health professor at Washington, D.C.’s George Washington University, as well as an emergency physician. In 2019 the mom-of-two was named one of ‘TIME’ magazine’s 100 Most Influential People. She was also once the President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, making her the first physician to lead the organization in nearly 50 years. Dr. Wen has penned pieces for ‘The Washington Post,’ the ‘Baltimore Sun,’ and ‘NBC News’ among other outlets. Her articles include an op-ed about being pregnant during a pandemic, as well as a piece offering guidance on how people should protect themselves once the coronavirus lockdown ends. Her work has also appeared in medical publications like, ‘The Lancet,’ ‘JAMA,’ and the ‘British Medical Journal.’
