Cuba Gooding Jr — Cuba Michael Gooding Jr. became one of the biggest names in entertainment in the late 1990s, thanks to his breakthrough roles in Boyz n the Hood, A Few Good Men, and Outbreak. However, the man would become a pop culture icon thanks to four words – ‘Show me the money’ – in 1996’s Jerry Maguire. Portraying Rodney ‘Rod’ Tidwell in the movie earned Cuba the Best Supporting Actor at the 1997 Academy Awards.

Before this, Cuba – the son of Cuba Gooding Sr., lead vocalist in soul group The Main Ingredient – experienced early success as a breakdancer, as he performed with Lionel Richie at the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angles. He appeared on shows like Hill Street Blues, Amen and MacGyver, before scoring a small part in 1998’s Coming to America. After his career blew up with Jerry Maguire, he suffered inconsistent success. Though he was praised for his roles in A Good As It Gets and Pearl Harbor, he also appeared in movies like Snow Dogs, Boat Trip and Daddy Day Camp. He returned to the spotlight proper in American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson.
