The former ‘That ‘70s Show’ co-stars insisted they ‘support victims’ and apologized for speaking highly of Danny.
Once upon a time, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Danny Masterson were close friends when the trio costarred on That ‘70s Show. However, their friendship drastically changed after Danny was convicted of two counts of rape and sentenced to 30 years to life behind bars in September 2023.
The Two and a Half Men alum and the Family Guy voice actress faced backlash for writing letters on behalf of Danny in his trial. Since they were friends with the Men at Work alum for years, Ashton and Mila explained in an apologetic Instagram video that they had only spoken highly of the person they once knew. Nevertheless, fans slammed the spouses on social media for seemingly undermining the victims and the justice system.
“We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that we wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson,” Ashton said in the clip at the time, while Mila insisted, “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future. … “Our heart goes out to every single person who’s ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape.”
