‘A Cinderella Story’ is a teen classic. This spin on ‘Cinderella’ starred the one and only Hilary Duff. See the cast then and now after 20 years.

A Cinderella Story was released on July 16, 2004, and became an instant teen classic. This modern-day spin on Cinderella featured teen queen Hilary Duff as Sam Montgomery. Sam falls for high school hotshot Austin Ames, and they get their happily ever after — in the pouring rain. Even after 20 years, ‘A Cinderella Story’ is still a beloved film amongst millennials.

When A Cinderella Story came out, Hilary was one of the biggest teen stars in the world. She had just finished her run on Disney Channel as Lizzie McGuire. She has appeared in a number of films and TV shows over the years and has released 3 albums since 2004. She notably starred as Kelsey on Younger for 7 seasons. Hilary is set to star in the upcoming ‘How I Met Your Father’ after the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ revival fell through.

When ‘A Cinderella Story’ came out, Chad was already playing Lucas Scott on ‘One Tree Hill.’ He went on to star in films like ‘House of Wax,’ ‘Fruitvale Station,’ and several Hallmark movies. After leaving ‘One Tree Hill,’ CMM went on to appear in other shows such as ‘Agent Carter,’ ‘Riverdale,’ and more.

Chad married his ‘OTH’ co-star Sophia Bush in 2005. They got divorced the next year. He was engaged to Kenzie Dalton, but they called it quits in 2013. Since 2014, Chad has been with Sarah Roemer. They are married and have two kids.

Regina King played Rhonda, Sam’s modern-day fairy godmother. Since ‘A Cinderella Story,’ Regina’s star power has skyrocketed. She went on to star in movies like ‘Ray’ and ‘Miss Congeniality 2.’ She won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for ‘If Beale Street Could Talk.’ Regina has also starred in TV series like ‘Southland,’ ‘American Crime,’ ‘Seven Seconds,’ and ‘Watchmen.’ She has won 4 Emmys since 2015. Regina directed the 2020 film ‘One Night In Miami.’

Julie Gonzalo played Shelby Cummings in ‘A Cinderella Story.’ The same year as the teen film, Julie starred in the holiday film ‘Christmas With the Kranks.’ She also starred in multiple seasons of ‘Veronica Mars.’ One of her most notable roles has been Pamela in the ‘Dallas’ reboot. Since 2019, Julie has starred as Andrea Rojas on ‘Supergirl.’
