The Academy Awards, aka the Oscars, is the most highly anticipated award show of the year. Every year in February, the Academy honors the most highly critiqued films of the previous year in various genres and forms. The Oscars date all the way back to 1929, and continue to grow more and more incredible every year in awarding Hollywood’s finest actors, producers, directors and more. The 88th Annual Academy Awards in 2016 was hosted by Chris Rock, and awarded Spotlight for Best Picture. Additionally, Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor for his role in The Revenant, and Brie Larson won Best Acress for her role in Room.
