Ingrid Andress has been making headlines after being criticized for her performance of the National Anthem at the MLB home run derby on Monday, July 15. Ingrid, 32, was tapped to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” at the annual baseball event, but shortly after the performance, viewers were quick to pile on the clip. Ingrid Went Viral for Her ‘Star Spangled Banner’ Performance
After the clip started blowing up, many people likened the performance to Fergie’s 2018 National Anthem rendition at the NBA All-Star game, where she was similarly criticized. “That Ingrid Andress national anthem might have been the worst thing to happen in America in the last 48 hours,” one person wrote.

Ingrid dropped her debut album Lady Like in 2020, and she put out a follow-up in 2022 titled Good Person. Back in 2023, she released her The Last Day They Were on the Same Page Was in a Yearbook EP in 2023, and she also put out the holiday song “Once a Year.”

While it may surprise some viewers of the National Anthem performance, Ingrid has actually been nominated for multiple Grammys. She received three nominations for Best Country Song, Best Country Album, and the Best New Artist.

Prior to her success on her own, Ingrid was a member of the acapella group Pitch Slapped. The group went on to appear on the NBC reality show The Sing Off. Ingrid’s group eventually placed in sixth place.

While she’s performed plenty of her own songs, Ingrid has also had a hand in tracks for other artists. Her biggest hit is probably Charli XCX’s tune “Boys,” which she’s also released her own version of.
