FKA twigs is taking legal action against ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, accusing the 34-year-old actor of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress, according to court docs obtained by Variety. In the December 11 lawsuit, filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court, FKA, 32, (born Tahliah Debrett Barnett) recounts a specific alleged incident “just after Valentine’s Day 2019″ where Shia was driving recklessly while she was in the car. When she “begged” to be let out of the vehicle, Shia allegedly assaulted her. This was one of in a line of what she called ‘relentless’ abuse from her Honey Boy co-star.
HollywoodLife has reached out to FKA twigs and Shia LaBeouf’s reps for comment and in response, FKA’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, shared the following statement: “Shia LaBoeuf has abused Ms. Barnett, Ms.Pho and others. We tried to resolve this matter privately on the condition that Mr. LaBeouf agree to receive meaningful and consistent psychological treatment. Since he was unwilling to agree to get appropriate help, Ms. Barnett filed this suit to prevent others from unknowingly suffering similar abuse by him.” (HollywoodLife has yet to hear back from LaBeouf’s reps).
