Wesley Snipes (born Wesley Trent Snipes on July 31, 1962 in Orlando, Florida) is an American actor and martial artist. Though born in Florida, Wesley grew up in the Bronx in New York City. Wesley attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art, but moved back to Florida before he could graduate. Wesley returned to New York for long, attending SUNY Purchase. Wesley was interested in acting while in school and he was discovered by an agent when he was 23. His film debut came in 1986 in the movie, Wildcats. The next year, he appeared as Michael Jackson’s nemesis in the “Bad” music video. This led to his breakout role in the baseball-comedy, Major League. This box office success led to him to star in movies New Jack City, Passenger 57, Demolition Man, and comedies like White Men Can’t Jump and To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar. However, Wesley’s biggest commercial success came with Blade, and the movie was turned into a trilogy of films. In 2006, Wesley was arrested for failing to file his federal income taxes between 1999 and 2004. He was found guilty in 2008 and was sentenced to three years in prison. He reported to prison 2010 to begin his sentence and was released in April 2013. Wesley began his comeback by appearing in The Expendables 3 in 2014.

Personal Life:
Wesley is a 5th degree black belt in Shotokan karate and a 2nd degree black belt in Hapkido. He has been married twice. He married his first wife, April DuBois, in 1985. They had one son together, Jelani Asar, before divorcing in 1990. He married his second wife, Nikki Park, in 2003. They have four children together: Akhenaten Kihwa-T, Iset Jua-T, Alafia Jehu-T and Alimayu Moa-T.
