Vin Scully

Bio:
Vin Scully (born Vincent Edward Scully on November 29, 1927 in The Bronx, New York) is an American sportscaster. He has spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, starting with the team in 1950 when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers. Deciding early on that he wanted to be a sports broadcaster, he attended Fordham University where he was an announcer for some of its teams and also played baseball. Just one year out of school, Vin began his career with the Brooklyn Dodgers and followed the team to Los Angeles in 1957. Since then, he has established himself as baseball’s best announcer and was inducted into the Broadcaster’s wing of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. As he has gotten older, Vin has stopped broadcasting for the team’s road games, but remains the veteran home announcer. Vin revealed in August 2015 that he would return for the 2016 season, but it will likely be his last.

Best Known For:
Vin is best known for his role as an announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is also known for having the longest consecutive role as a broadcaster with one team in any sport, as he has been with the Dodgers for 66 seasons.

Personal Life:
Before marrying Sandra Hunt in 1973, Vin lost his first wife, Joan Crawford, to an accidental medical overdose in 1972. He had three children with Joan, the eldest of whom tragically passed away in 1994. Vin and Sandra have one child together. Vin and Sandra now live in Westlake Village, California, on the edge of Los Angeles.
