Tina Knowles  (born Celestine Ann Beyincé on January 4, 1954 in Galveston, Texas) is an American businesswoman and fashion designer. While growing up, Tina’s mother, Agnéz Deréon, was a talented seamstress who supported her family through her sewing skills, inspiring her daughter to pursue her own fashion interests. Tina met Mathew Knowles in the mid-1970’s. The two started dating and in 1979, they married. Their first child, Beyoncé, was born in 1981. Four years later, the couple had a second daughter, Solange. While Beyoncé and Solange began their music careers, their father managed them while Tina helped out by fabricating their costumes and styling their hair. During the early years of Destiny’s Child, Tina acted as the costume designer for the group. In 2004, Tina launched the House of Deréon clothing line with Beyoncé. In 2010, she launched her second clothing line, Miss Tina by Tina Knowles. In 2010, Tina worked with Beyoncé to open the Beyoncé Cosmetology Center at the Phoenix House in Brooklyn, New York.
