Bio:
Thomas Rhett (born Thomas Rhett Akins, Jr. in Valdosta, Georgia on March 30, 1990) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Growing up, Thomas did not have a career choice in mind besides music. At age 20 he ended up dropping out of college in order to pursue his music dreams. One night while playing at a club, an executive from Big Machine Label Group approached him and offered him a publishing deal to write songs, which he accepted. The son of songwriter and country music superstar Rhett Atkins, Thomas has since released two studio albums for Big Machine Records’ Valory Music imprint. It Goes Like This was released in 2013 while Tangled Up was released in 2015. Both albums produced eight singles on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts — five of them reaching the No. 1 slot on the latter. His most popular songs so far have been: “It Goes Like This,” “Get Me Some of That,” “Make Me Wanna,” “Crash and Burn,” and “Die a Happy Man.” In addition to much of his own material, Rhett has also written singles for Jason Aldean, Lee Brice, and Florida Georgia Line.
