Ted Cruz (born Rafael Edward Cruz in Calgary, Alberta on December 22, 1970) is the junior United States Senator for the state of Texas. Cruz has argued before the Supreme Court nine times, which is more than any Texan lawyer or any member of Congress, currently. Cruz ran for President in 2015 and 2016 before conceding to Donald Trump.

Ted Cruz is best known for his affiliation with the Republican party. He was also the Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to May 2008. He was also a partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Cruz is also known to support the Tea Party.

Personal Life:
Ted Cruz is married to Heidi Cruz, and the couple has two daughters. Ted and Heidi met while working on George W. Bush‘s 2000 presidential campaign.
