Sam Hunt

Bio:
Sam Hunt (born Sam Lowry Hunt in December 8, 1984 in Cedartown, Georgia) is an American singer and songwriter. He studied at Cedartown High School where he played football. He was named the 2002 Co-Offensive Player of the Year. He spent two years at Middle Tennessee State University before transferring to the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After football practice, Sam would teach himself how to play guitar. After his professional football career failed to take off in 2008, he relocated to Nashville to pursue his passions in music. Sam co-wrote Kenny Chesney’s 2012 hit, “Come Over,” which won an ASCAP award. He also Keith Urban’s “Cop Car” and Billy Currington’s “We Are Tonight.” Sam released his own single, “Raised on It,” in September 2013 and independently released his mixtape, Between the Pines, the following October. In January 2014, Sam signed with MCA Nashville and released his debut EP, X2C, in August of that year. The EP debuted at Number 36 on the Billboard 200. His first single for MCA was “Leave the Night On,” which went on the Number 1 on the Country Airplay charts. His full-length album, Montevallo, was released in October 2014 and contained his own version of “Cop Car.” His album debuted at #1 on the Top Country Albums and #3 on the Billboard 200. Sam appeared with Taylor Swift during a July date on her 1989 World Tour.

Sam Hunt is best known as a country music singer, one who incorporates R&B elements into songs like “Leave the Night On” and “Take Your Time.”

Personal Life:
Sam wrote his album Montevallo about his ex-girlfriend, Hannah Lee Fowler. However, the two got back together in the spring of 2016, and confirmed their engagement on Jan. 2, 2016.
