Bio:
Ryan Murphy (born Ryan Patrick Murphy on November 09, 1965 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. Ryan grew up in Indy, graduating from Warren Central High School. He joined the high school theater department, sang in the school choir and edited its paper. At the age of 15, he came out as gay. He enrolled in Indiana University in 1983, majoring in journalism. After internships at the Washington Post and Miami Herald, he moved to Los Angeles to work for the Los Angeles Times and Entertainment Weekly. During his time off, Ryan penned screenplays. His script for Why Can’t I Be Audrey Hepburn? was optioned by Warner Brothers but it was never made. Motivated to give film and television a shot, Ryan created his first program, Popular, in 1999. From there, Ryan produced the series Nip/Tuck, before he created one of his most popular projects: Glee. The Fox musical-comedy-drama earned 12 Emmy Awards nominations. Though Ryan’s The New Normal was cancelled after one season in 2012, he would find success with the creation of the anthology series American Horror Story and Scream Queens. In 2016, Ryan launched his new series, American Crime Story.

Personal Life:
Ryan grew up Catholic and continues to go to church. He married photographer David Miller in 2012. They welcomed their first child, a son named Logan Phineas, via surrogate , that year. In 2014, they had a second child, Ford. Ryan was known for getting into public arguments with famous bands and their members when they refused to have their music covered on Glee, though he has since said he regretted his public outbursts.

‘Glee’ Ending After Season 6 Because Of Cory Monteith’s Death

‘Glee’ will officially end after season six, co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed on October 16. He revealed that after Cory’s death, the show will not be able to continue in the direction he wanted — and that the last line of the show was supposed to from Rachel to Finn.
Ryan Murphy had a set idea of how he wanted the final season of Glee to go — and without Cory Monteith, the creator has decided it can’t happen.

On Oct. 10, fans have to say a final goodbye to Cory Monteith’s character, Finn Hudson on Glee’s tribute episode. Show creator Ryan Murphy revealed on Oct. 3 that he’s never seen anything like the struggle that took place during filming.

Glee’s entire cast and crew was hit hard by Cory Monteith’s sudden death, but now, Ryan Murphy and his creative team have the difficult task of crafting a highly anticipated memorial episode — one that provides appropriate closure for both Cory and his on-screen persona, Finn Hudson. “There were a lot of things that we had to decide,” Ryan tells HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Deadline in a new interview. “How are we going to deal with his death?”
