Ralph Lauren (born Ralph Lifshitz on October 14, 1939 in The Bronx, New York) is an American fashion designer. After working for Brooks Brothers and as a salesman for a tie company, he began his own company designing ties. In 1967, he opened a necktie store where he sold his designs under the name ‘Polo,’ and eventually trademarked the name. He quickly expanded his line to feature polo shirts, and it went on to become an award-winning brand and multi-billion dollar company. Ralph stepped down as CEO in Sept. 2015. He is also a collector of automobiles and avid philanthropist.

Personal Life:
Ralph married Ricky Anne Loew-Beer on Dec. 20, 1964. Together they have three children, Andrew, David and Dylan, who is the owner of Dylan’s Candy Bar. Ralph was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1987, but had a full recovery after surgery.
