Peter Fonda (born February 23, 1940 in New York City, New York) is an American actor. He is an icon of the “counterculture of the 1960s.” Peter first worked on Broadway, where he was recognized for his work in Blood, Sweat and Stanley Poole. He moved to Hollywood to make films and he debuted in Tammy and the Doctor in 1963. He was cast in Lilith (1964) alongside Warren Beatty and also starred in The Victors in ’64. In 1968, Peter produced, co-wrote and starred in Easy Rider which was his breakthrough role. It’s a motorcycle film with a cult following. The next film Peter received praise for was Ulee’s Gold, for which he received an Oscar nom. He is currently filming Most Hated Woman In America and The Ballad of Lefty Brown.

Peter Fonda is the son of Henry Fonda and the brother of Jane Fonda. He has a permanent home in Paradise Valley, Montana. He was very outspoken on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and attacked President Obama.
