Pete Rose

Pete Rose (born Peter Edward Rose on April 14, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is a former Major League Baseball player and manager. Pete played baseball and football in high school. While playing a Class AA sports team, Pete was seen by a scout for the Cincinnati Reds. He signed a professional contract in 1963, starting his long career in baseball. Pete was given the nickname “Charlie Hustle” for running to the base after a walk. Pete got his first major league hit on April 13, 1963. By the end of his career, he would be the all-time leader in hits. Pete played with the Reds until 1978. He signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1979 and played until 1983, when he signed with the Montreal Expos for a single season. Pete returned to the Reds in 1984 and finished his career in 1986. He managed the Reds from 1984 to 1989. Pete holds many unbroken Major League record, including for most hits (4,256) games played (3,562) at-bats (14,053) singles (3,215) and outs (10,328). In February 1989, Pete was under investigation for allegedly betting on baseball while he was an active player. Pete allegedly bet on 52 Reds games in 1987. The findings led to Rose placed on a permanent ineligibility list, thus banning him from being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Pete admitted in 2004 that he bet on baseball games, saying that he never bet against the Reds while he was with the team.

Personal Life:
Pete married Karolyn Englehardt in 1964. They had two children together — Fawn and Pete Jr — before their divorce in 1980. A 1978 paternity suit claimed Pete as the father of Morgan Erin Rubio, and Pete admitted that she was his daughter. Pete married Carol J. Woliung in 1984. They had two children together, Tyler and Cara, before divorcing in 2011. Pete and Playboy model, Kiana Kim, began a relationship in 2009.
