P.K. Subban

Bio:
P.K. Subban (born Pernell Karl Subban in Toronto, Ontario on May 13, 1989) is a professional Canadian ice hockey player. He is currently a defenseman for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). P.K. began his professional career in 2007, after he was drafted as the 43rd overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. In 2009, he began his entry-level contract with Montreal’s American Hockey League (AHL), playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs. During his 2009-2010 season, he impressed fans and spectators. And by 2011, P.K. became the first defenseman to score a “hat-trick” move in a game. He was also awarded the AHL’s prestigious President’s Award for his accomplishments. In the 2013-2014 season, he became a free agent after his contract expired with the Bulldogs. During the off-season, P.K. competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, taking home the gold medal for Team Canada. On June 29, 2016, P.K. was officially traded to the Nashville Predators.

Personal Life:
P.K. Subban has two brothers who also play ice hockey in the NHL. His brother, Jordan Subban was drafted to the Vancouver Canucks in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. And his youngest brother, Malcolm Subban, a goalie, was drafted to the Boston Bruins in the 2012 Draft. In 2015 P.K. announced his donation of $10 million to the Montreal Children’s Hospital, an amount the hospital said was “the biggest philanthropic commitment by a sports figure in Canadian history.”
