Nina Dobrev (born Nina Constantinova Dobreva in Sofia, Bulgaria on January 9, 1989) is a Bulgarian-Canadian actress best known for her role on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. An avid gymnastics and yoga enthusiast, Nina was a model and actress in Canada (she starred on Degrassi: The Next Generation) before landing the lead role on The Vampire Diaries in 2009, where she began a real-life romance with co-star Ian Somerhalder. Nina had roles in 2010’s Chloe, 2012’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower and in 2014’s Let’s Be Cops. On Apr.6, 2015, Nina announced she would be leaving The Vampire Diaries at the end of the season.

Personal Life:
Outside of her role on the fan-frenzied Vampire Diaries, Nina has also attracted attention because of her hush-hush relationship with co-star Ian Somerhalder. The two confirmed their relationship in Sept. 2011, but separated in May 2013.
